The Grout Museum of History and Science originally started as a place for founder Henry Whittemore Grout to store the 2,000 items he had collected over the course of his travels. Today, the museum continues to explore and celebrate the culture and natural history of the region through rotating exhibits and the beautiful Grout Planetarium. The museum is located in the city center, at the intersection Park Avenue and South Street.
